Safe Room fabricates these steel ducts for use in underground
shelters. Every shelter needs an air intake and an air exhaust
duct for true ventilation.
These
pipes are 4-inch diameter welded steel pipes that are primered.
They
feature a pre-drilled mounting plate that mounts to the
outside of your shelter - either the ceiling or the wall.
There is enough pipe after the mounting plate to go through
the roof or the wall and terminate flush with the inside
of the shelter. The Blast
Valves mount directly to the shelter wall over the ventilation
pies with the included concrete wedge anchors.
The
ventilation pipes can be poured in place or installed into
existing 4.5 inch holes in the shelter.
Shown
in the picture above is a set of ventilation pipes that
are made to go through the ceiling of a shelter. Note that
the tops are swept through 180 degrees and the bottoms have
the mounting plates welded in place.
For
more information, please see the installation and operation
manual
(PDF).
These
ventilation ducts are built to order. Please see the manual
for ordering details. Once we have the required information
from you, we will send you a formal quotation.
